About the Park

Ohori Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Japan. It is a central city park in Fukuoka with a lake in the center. Citizens and tourists alike enjoy strolling and jogging around the walking trail which spans approximately 2 kilometres.

History

Ohori means "trench" in Japanese and was constructed utilising the outer moat of nearby Fukuoka Castle. It is modelled on the West Lake of China and opened in 1929.
