About Dongurimura (Village)

Donguri Village is a theme park set in the image of a southern French country village. It's located in Mitsuse Village in the countryside of Saga Prefecture. It is a very popular place for family activities and getting in touch with nature. It also has ties with the village of Cussac, located in the Bordeaux region of France.

The village boasts wide open grassland and is full of facilities to amuse both old and young. There is a 160 meter roller slide which winds through the surrounding forest, an athletic course and playground, archery range and a grass ski slope. There is a also a ranch where you can enjoy horseback riding and also come in close contact with farm animals such as ponies, sheep and goats.

Donguri Village also makes their own ice cream with Jersey milk courtesy of the Jersey cows at the Milking Plaza. You can also have a go at milking too, if you're game.

There's also the Chez-Bonne Farm Restaurant that serves up authentic southern French cuisine, plenty of village made produce to take home, and, if you wish to stay overnight, there's the stylish Le Vert Hotel "SIESTE" within the grounds.

The word "Donguri" means a kind of acorn nut in Japanese. The land is full of acorn trees. There's an acorn bank in the center of the village, so a popular activity is to collect acorn nuts from the fallen trees. The good thing is for every 500 grams of acorn nuts you collect and take to the bank, you get a free locally produced and delicious yoghurt!
